    The role of the Elders is to be the primary governmental group of the church, to provide the vision, direction and spiritual oversight, and together with the Senior Leadership Team, ensure the ongoing health and growth of the church and its ministries.

    Board of Management

    The role of the Board is to be the primary governance group of the church, responsible to provide administrative and financial oversight of the vision of the Elders and to ensure that the running of the business of the church is in compliance with all legal and governmental requirements.

    Pastor Philip Hills - Apostolic Elder:

    Philip Hills is a well-travelled pastor who has been an influential leader in the growing pentecostal movement. His Christian maturity, wisdom and administrative abilities were recognised by the AOG fellowship and reflected in the executive positions he held with the Australian Assemblies of God fellowship (now the Australian Christian Churches). Hserved as a national executive member from 1973 until 2001. In 1997 he retired as the Assistant National General Superintendent after serving in this position for 18 years. He also chaired the World Missions council for the AOG for 18 years and was the State Superintendent for Victoria and Tasmania for 18 years from 1980 to 1998. 

    Bernadette Joiner - Board Member 

    Responsibility -  Safer Churches Representative

    Bernadette is  Primary Teacher with 46 years experience in education, including a range of leadership roles. She has also completed Post Graduate studies in Science Education at the University of Melbourne where she also worked with pre-service teachers in the Maths/Science Education Faculty. She currently owns and manages a gallery, literature centre and events facility. Bernadette is passionate about reaching her local community and also to see the local church mobilized in prayer and  discipled to walk in the fullness of their identity in Christ. Bernadette currently serves in prayer, pastoral care and the children's ministry at Melbourne Life Christian Church.

    Carvin Winans

    Responsibility -  Board Secretary

    Carvin Winans is an accountant and has 10 plus years of experience working in finance both in the United States and Australia.  He received an education at Harvard University where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Over the past 4 years, Carvin has been very involved in his local church with leading a cell group, active in the children’s department and serving in the worship ministry. Over the past year Carvin has taken a more active role in helping oversee all cell groups and is passionate in building the community of his local church where the culture truly resembles family. Carvin resides in Melbourne Australia with his wife Ana Winans and their two children, Carvin Winans IV and Amelia Winans.

    Herman Ng - Accountant / MLCC Financial Controller:      

    Responsibility -  Board Treasurer / Public Officer

    Herman is a Certified Practicing Accountant and has worked for multinational companies in the USA, UK and Australia. Over the past years, he has been actively involved in Melbourne Life as his local church, serving in areas such as Cell Group Leadership. Herman, as an MLCC Board Member, is responsible for the finances of the church and any of its out-flowing ministries.  

    Nicoletta Dimovski - Architect:                                             

    Responsibility -  Building Fund / Venue Acquisition

    Nicoletta is a registered architect with over 20 years experience in design and construction since graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Planning & Design from Melbourne University. Joining Stonehenge, a highly awarded design and construction company in 1996, she has worked in design & construction in both Australia & Japan. Nicoletta is a committed member of Melbourne Life and serves also as a Hospitality leader. She has strong project management skills, a passion for design, detail and methodologies, which allows her to bring this experience and excellence to the MLCC Board to support, and to help continue the development of the cause of the local church.
